Day 2.: Walk with Elephant / See the way we lived traditionally.
How about a walk with an Elephant? yes it is amazing to walk with an elephant, so Millennium Elephant Foundation is the best place to have that experience, after having your breakfast, drive to Millennium Elephant Foundation, start the education tour about elephants, you will be briefed about the Asian Elephants and about the activities of foundation. the walk includes, personalized guided tour, at least 30 minutes’ walk with elephant around the garden, bathing the same elephant in the river, tour of Maximus Elephant Dung Paper Factory, observe the activities of captive elephant and study them,

After the walk with elephant visit the Pinnawala Iperani Gama (Pinnawala traditional Village Theme park)
The village is designed to reflect the traditional life of Sri Lankan people and the way they lived in 18s and early 19th century. we enter to the Wedamahaththaya’s home (Ayurvedic physician’s home) and learn on how the traditional medicine was practiced in Sri Lanka, next door is the home of Arachchi (the head of the village), you will learn how he ruled the village and what kind of power he was given by the king. well grown rice field adds stunning beauty to the village. a herbal drink will be served with sweets made traditionally, friendly villagers will show you how they made some of equipment they used in history for day to day use.

Day 3.: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage – Sigiriya Rock Fortress:

After breakfast visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage was started aiming to look after elephants who injured due to varies incidents and baby elephant abandoned in the jungle, there are 88 elephants in the orphanage as of now which needed to be looked after. daily activities such as milk feeding and bathing in the river can be witness in the orphanage,

Leave for Sigiriya, where the rock fortress was built by King kashyapa. climbing the rock is not a challenging one but exiting, the water garden geometrically created is a masterpiece of ancient people, now a world Heritage site by UNESCO. Panoramic view is stunningly beautiful when you reach to the summit of the rock.
On completion return to the hotel.
Evening travel to Tropical village for special dinner, dinner will be in the Kamatha, where the place used to collect the crop of paddy cultivation, you will pick some vegetables from the garden for the dinner and the chef will prepare the curry for your dinner,

Day 4.: Aukana / Namal Uyana / Minneriya National Park

After breakfast leave for Aukana where the reclaim Buddha statue situated and a masterpiece of ancient creations. after visiting the statue leave for Namal Uyana for a trek through the ironwood garden. The forest is famous for its unique value. the forest is giving protection to pink quartz which is situated in the middle of the forest.
The trek is easy and the type of the forest is tropical dry zone forest.
You will be confronted with a vision of mile upon mile of lush green canopy stretching out to meet the horizon and broken here and there only by the occasional human habitation and lake or two. If the time is right, you will also find that the Naa trees are in full bloom and creating such a riot of colors that it is almost too much to behold and take in all at once. Take all the time you want. You made that trek and now you should take the time to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Afterwards leave for Minneriya National Park, embark on a jeep and enjoy the safari, Minneriya is the remarkable park to see hundreds of elephants. Twenty-four (24) species of mammals in Sri Lanka have been reported from this park. The most important of them is the wild elephant (Elephant maximus) the population of which of about 150-200. Minneriya reservoir and its surrounding wetlands habitat is inhabited by large number of an aquatic bird species. Early morning and late evening are the optimum observation of the day for resident and migratory birds. Three species of fishes are endangered out of four endemic species recorded in the reservoir, while the introduced Thilapia species are dominant.

Day 5.: Polonnaruwa / Mahiyanganaya

After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa and visit the medieval city of Polonnaruwa. The city of Polonnaruwa – medieval capital & crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I – remains superior proof of ancient culture & heritage blended with religious beliefs. Walk across its scattered walls of the World Heritage Site – blessed by stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals and fantastically carved Hindu sculptures – while observing the relic house – Watadage – which boasts of beautiful stone carvings. Take a close glance and you will realize a subtle Hindu influence on architecture and statues found in Polonnaruwa. Or sit by the side of Galviharaya and observe the absolute beauty gushing out of every bend of its huge Buddhist statues. Nissankamalla Council Chamber is however, a head-spinning beauty to just sit back and observe with its swaying pillars reminding the aesthetics of a powerful kingdom which rests beside Parakrama Samudraya – sea of Parakramabahu & masterpiece of irrigation!

Day 6.: Sorabora Lake Boat Ride / Vedda Village:

After Breakfast leave for Dambana. Dambana is a remote jungle village within the Badulla District in Sri Lanka. The indigenous Veddha people as well as their Vedda language are the heart and soul of this region.
It is a heartwarming experience to gain firsthand insight of the Veddha culture and their way of life. This community remains unaffected by urbanization and other modern influences allowing you to have a genuine understanding of the community. Visitors also get the incredible opportunity to meet Uruwarige Wanniyaleththo, Chief of the tribe.,
From Dambana village start boat riding in Sorabora lake, the uniqueness in the boat is it is non-motorized, two persons will paddle the boat over the still water. Ajith or Jagath will describe the hidden history behind the lake while riding, it will be an interesting to know about Bulatha who built the lake during his short time of the duty, a no of native and endemic bird species could be seen during the ride, visit an island in the middle of the lake. Sri Lanka style lunch will be served you in the island after welcome with an herbal drink, the boat ride and island visit will take 02 hours.

Day 7.: Knuckle’s Mountain / Kandy

Early morning leaves for Knuckle’s mountain range,
Before you start trekking you can enjoy your picnic breakfast. After having breakfast start trekking. There are 5 trails and you will be doing the easy trail called dothulugala trek. Passing abounded tea plantation used some times back in years you will be arriving at the thick mountain forest. stream flowing through lush green forest add incalculable value to the forest, sounds of the birds brings calmness to the mind during the walk. A total of 1033 flowering plant species belonging to 141 families have been recorded from the Knuckles. 288 woody plant species are among them. Dumbara range (local name for Knuckle’s range) provides shelter to 128 bird species, 20 amphibians species, 60 butterflies species, 17 mollusc species. 31 mammal species, 53 reptile species, and 15 fish species. Trek reaches to the summit of the mountain enabling to witness the panoramic view. Descend the mountain against the wind and finish the nature trail by coming to a bank of a lake and relaxing at the bank of the lake, here you can relax yourself listing to the nature for a few minutes.
Picnic lunch will be served before move to Kandy.

Day 8.: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya by Train:

After breakfast leave for Peradeniya or Kandy Railway Station, what makes a great train journey? distance scenery… the train itself… the people you meet on the way. Undoubtedly it is all those things and more. from the train window you witness the superb view of the steep hill country, sometimes veiled in thin mist, from Pattipola station you will be picked by the chauffer and travel to Horton Plain,
before start the trekking refresh yourself with a picnic snack,
trek in the Sri Lanka’s highest National park, Horton plains comprises a gently undulating highland plateau at the southern end of the central mountain massif of Sri Lanka. Sambar is a common sight at dusk and in the early morning hours. Slender Loris, endemic toque macaque, purple faced langur, rusty-spotted cat, fishing cat, leopard panther, wild boar, stripe necked mongoose, barking deer, long tailed giant squirrel, Horned lizard bear monkey are some of species found in the national park. This park is a paradise for butterflies too.
On completion trekking leave for Nuwara Eliya and check in at your hotel.

Day 9.: Nuwara Eliya – Kithulgala – Negombo

At Kithulgala Experience white water rafting in the picturesque Kelani River, covering 5 major rapids & 4 minor rapids. This activity is for anyone above the age of 10 years with safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing will be given by white water rafting instructors.
