1) How can I make the Booking?

  • Guest who wish to make the booking would need fill up the booking form and signed with the declaration that they have fully understand the terms and condition of the booking.

2) How can I make the payment?

  • Along with the booking form you can make the payment by cheque, cash or electronic transfer.

3) Can I pay a deposit?

  • You can make a booking and pay a 30% deposit or the full trip value. Any balance is due 8 weeks before the start of your trip.

4) Singles supplement?

  • All the rooms are based on 2 people sharing (same sex if from different groups). If you wish you can pay extra for your own room when staying in a hotel.

5) What is the difference between a private and group trek?

  • It is an exclusive trek for you and your friends and family. You will have your own private guide and you can start your trek on any day which gives you much more flexibility.
  • A group trek will allows other trekkers to join in one of the trek you are in, it could be from a small group from 2 to 15 and to may apply from a  fixed dates for group treks.
  • The price is usually the same.

6) Tailor-made trips?

  • It will allow you to do a complete trip as per your wish. It allows you to do a trip other than we currently advertise, or to add extra days, or simply to go on a date that we do not advertise. Let us know your requirements and we can take care of the rest.

7) Travel insurance?

  • It is must and important to have insurance that covers you for the level of altitude that you will be trekking at (however it is your responsibility to confirm  and check whether the trip you under taking is fully covered by your travel insurance in case if we need to evacuate.

9) Where shall we get the visa?

  • Every country has its own visa rules so please check before departure. Some country may have visa upon arrival. We will also guide you once you book the holiday with us.

10) How much weight can I take in trekking?

  • Trekking in Nepal, India, Bhutan and Tibet allows you to carry 12 kg, our  porters will carry up to 12kgs of weight for each trekker and you will be shred . This is included in the price of each trek. We plan for 1 porter for 2 trekkers in accordance to the guidelines set . If you would like more weight to be carried, please let us know. In general 12kg is more than sufficient.
  • Trek in Kilamanjaro and Peru there are also similar restriction while trek, this is also because of the domestic flight luggage allowance, but You can certainly bring more stuff for your

11) Is tap water safe?

  • Tap water is not safe to drink in the mountains. To help prevent contamination of the environment, we discourage tourists from drinking from plastic bottles especially when in the mountains. Non-plastic bottle options include:
  • Drinking boiled water from teahouses, we can also take a purifying tablet, chloride tablet etc.

12) How old does a trekker have to be to go trekking?

  • Easy treks: minimum age is 12
  • Moderate to strenuous treks: minimum age is 14
  • All trekkers under 18 must be accompanied by a friend / family member who is over 18 years of age.

13) What is your cancellation policy?

  • You may cancel a confirmed trip. However, as Earthbound Expeditions will charge you the cancellation charges listed below. The days below refer to the number of days prior to start date of the trip purchased, and the value mentioned is the cancellation charge:
  • 75% refund of total trip price for a cancellation made 80 days prior to the original departure date.
  • 50% refund of total trip price for a cancellation made 40 days prior to the original departure date.
  • 0% refund of total trip price for a cancellation made 39 days or fewer days prior to the original departure date.
  • You can make a cancellation by sending an e-mail or post to Earthbound Expeditions Ltd clearly stating in the title of the e-mail “cancellation of a confirmed trip”. Earthbound Expeditions will acknowledge your cancellation within 5 working days of the date of the e-mail or mail. Any monies receive that are greater than the cancellation penalties will be refunded. The entitled refunds will be paid to you within 21 days of a cancellation being made.

14) What kind of training do I need before the trek?

  • We recommend you do a regular good 5 hour up and down walk and twice 2 hour walk every week. A good few class of yoga and work out at gym is a good way to make you comfortable for the trek.

15) Shall I bring snacks and equipment from home?

  • Yes it is good to have good quality equipment from home which you are used to however most of the country we operate have a chance to hire or purchase equipment and snacks but be aware it may not be the same quality or taste which you want.

16) Visas

  • We are able to provide basic advice to tourists regarding passports and visa requirements, you should check with the appropriate Embassy, Consulate or British Foreign Office for the exact requirements for your chosen trip.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct passport and visas to gain access to any country/region included in the travel arrangements, If you fail to do so, we have no liability to you for any cost, loss or damage which you suffer, nor will we refund you the cost of any unused portion of your travel arrangements.
