INCA´S TRAIL
LIMA-CUSCO-INCA TRAIL-CUSCO-LIMA
Day 1.
Lima
Upon arrival at Lima, reception and transfer to the selected hotel and overnight.
Day 2.
Lima / Cusco
After an early breakfast, transfer from the hotel to the airport at a scheduled time to take the flight to Cusco(flight not included). Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the selected hotel.
At the scheduled time, there is a guided city tour to visit: The Cathedral, very important for its architecture and collection of canvases from the “Escuela Cusqueña” (Academy of Cusco); the Temple of the Sun or “Koricancha” used as a founfation of Santo Domingo Monastery and classical example of the fusion of Inca and Western cultures and the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Return to the hotel.
Day 3.
Cusco / Wayllabamba
After an early breakfast, the tour starts with a three-hour bus ride through the Sacred Valley to Km 82 (54.68-mile post) at 2,750 m.s.n.m (9,022 ft.) From this point starts approximately a five-hour hike through the Sacred Valley along the Urubamba river to reach the campsite in Wuayllabamba at 3,600 m.s.l. (9,842 ft.). Lunch and dinner are provided.
Day 4.
Wayllabamba / Warmiwañusca / Pacaymayo
After breakfast, departure for Warmiwañusca Pass 4,200 m.s.l. (13,779 ft.) to enjoy the panoramic view of the Peruvian Andes. Afterwards the trail heads down to the second camp site in Pacay 3,600 m.s.l. (11,811 ft.). Total hiking time is approximately six to seven hours. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Day 5.
Pacaymayo / Puyupatamarca / Wiñaywayna
After breakfast, the hike continues to the archaeological sites of Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyutamarca and Wiñayhuayna 2,650 m.s.l. (8,594ft). The third camp site is at Wiñayhuayna. Total hiking time is approximately seven hours. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Day 6.
Wiñaywayna / Machu Picchu / Cusco
After an early breakfast, the hike starts at 5:30 A.M. to see the sunrise at Intipunko or “Sun Gate”. Arriving at Machu Picchu around 8:00A.M. for a two-hour guided tour. After the tour, there is free time to explore Machu Picchu. At the scheduled time, began the descent to Aguas Calientes in a shuttle bus for lunch and to take the train back to Cusco and to your hotel. Lunch is included.
Day 7.
Cusco / Lima
After breakfast a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport to take a flight to Lima (flight not included). Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.
At the scheduled time a tour to the city of Lima, capital of Peru. It begins with the historic downtown, to visit important buildings like the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Municipal Palace. It also includes a visit to the Church of San Francisco and Monastery, the largest monumental complex of Colonial Art in the Americas. You will also see the stone facades and wooden balconies of the Colonial houses. Passing by Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca building, which was most likely used as an important ceremonial and administrative center belonging to the Lima Culture. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. San Isidro has modern apartment buildings and beautiful parks such as “El Olivar” with olives’s trees brought from Spain in the 15th Century. Miraflores with its Central Park and Larcomar Shopping Center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel.
Day 8
Lima
After breakfast, a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport for the return flight to…

INKA TRAIL RECOMMENDATIONS
BACKPACK FOR INKA TRAIL:
This is an essential accessory for this tour. It should have two straps for a better weight distribution. Pack lightly, take only what is necessary. Remember, higher altitudes will wear you out and make everything seem heavier.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT:
Thermal sleeping bag and blanket, a small flash light, camera, plastic bags for wet clothes, sunglasses, rain poncho, first aid kit, lip balm, sunscreen lotion, moisturiser and deodorant. a Small towel and necessary toiletries, including toilet paper. Remember, it is a four-day hacking without a bathroom.
WHAT TO WEAR:
One pair of pants is recommended. If you want to take an extra one, take preferable hiking shorts or Bermuda’s. Three t-shirts, extra socks, hat or cap, light-weight raingear; if jacket can double as a windbreaker, light-weight but good hiking boots that provide ankle support and a god grip in the mud.

Return train to Ollantaytambo, and bus to Ollantaytambo/Cusco
The passenger must carry maximum 6 kg.Important: Sleeping bag is not included.
*The number of trekkers allowed to start the trek has also been limited to about 200 people per day (500 people in total including guides, cooks and porters on the classic Inca Trail, the shorter Inca Trail and the Salkantay trek) making it essential to book your trek well in advance.
For the Inca Trail are required items such as: toilet paper, sleeping bag and backpack. We recommend light sportswear during the day, extra layers and jackets at night, sun block, insect repellent, sun glasses, hat or cap and flashlight. Keep your passport or personal ID on you at all times in a safe place.
As the reservations are subject to availability established by UGM “Unidad de Gestión del Santuario Histórico de Machu Picchu”, you must do a reservation well in advance.
